THEORY OF TURBO MACHINERYMVKF05
Credits: 7,5. Grading scale: TH. Cycle: G2 (First Cycle). Main field: Technology. Language of instruction: The course will be given in Swedish. MVKF05 overlaps following cours/es: MVK026. Optional for: M4en. Course coordinator: Jens Klingmann, Jens.Klingmann@energy.lth.se, Energy Sciences. Prerequisites: MMVF01 Thermodynamics and Fluid Mechanics. Assessment: The examination is carried out individually and in group. The compulsory project assignments have to be presented written as well as orally in seminars, where all group members are required to participate actively. To pass the course, the student must pass all of the compulsory tasks. Home page: http://www.energy.lth.se.

Aim
Turbomachines hold a central position in power engineering. The course aims at providing an understanding of the machines principles, construction and control. Further the course should give an understanding of thermo and fluid dynamic processes occurring in the interaction between the machine and the working media. The course should also give an understanding of the simpler design methods and, at a more superficial level, the more complicated.
