INSPIRING INTRODUCTION TO INDUSTRIAL DESIGN, PART 1 OF 2IDEA25
Credits: 1. Grading scale: UG. Cycle: G1 (First Cycle). Main field: Industrial Design. Language of instruction: The course might be given in English. IDEA25 overlaps following cours/es: IDE011. Assessment: The grades awarded are either “pass” or “fail”, where a “pass” requires participation in at least 80% of the guest lectures, making an active contribution to the discussions, completion of a written report accounting for the lectures. Aim
To introduce students to their future profession.

Knowledge and understanding
For a passing grade the student must

be aware of the differing roles the industrial design profession has to offer. They shall be aware of their future professions’ relation to neighbouring areas. Students shall be engaged in discussions regarding industrial design; they shall question and reflect their profession.

Contents
The course focuses on the different aspects of the design process. Leading industrial designers, artists, scientists and cultural personae will participate as guest lecturers and workshop leaders. The lectures will be followed by discussions on current issues of industrial design.
