INDUSTRIAL DESIGN PROJECT IVIDE120
Credits: 19,5. Grading scale: TH. Cycle: A (Second Cycle). Language of instruction: The course will be given in English. Optional for: ID5. Course coordinator: Professor Claus-Christian Eckhardt, claus.eckhardt@design.lth.se, Industrial Design. Assessment: The grades awarded range from 5 to 3 wherein 3 equals “passed”, depending on attendance, participation, quality of development, completion of home assignments, final presentation, result(s) and report. Aim
To carry out a complex industrial design project.

Knowledge and understanding
For a passing grade the student must

have practised the entire design process including applicable tools and methods for a designed product or system of products so as to be prepared for their upcoming diploma course.

Contents
The course commences with the lecturer determining a suitable topic. The knowledge acquired in the current and previous terms will be applied to solve issues related to the topic as well as to the creative development of inspirational and conceptual ideas. This entails: creation of a project plan, research, analysis, concept sketching, 2D and 3D development, necessary adjustments, finished model and a final presentation and written report.
