Aim
The aim of the course is to give the students a good and detailed understanding of the mechanical properties of polymer materials in relation to their structures and their forming and use under different conditions.

Classification of Polymer Materials. Structures and properties of polymers. Crystallization, Viscoelasticity, Creep and Stress relaxation phenomena. Mechanical Testing methods. Materials characterization using optical and scanning electron microscopy. Deformation and forming methods. Applications and the current developmental trends. Environmental aspects and recycling.
