Aim
The course aims at providing the student with insight about the multitude of the experimenting architect’s line of work. A broad knowledge of the methods that are used in international contemporary architecture today is offered. Through practical work the student will learn about the experimental and practical reality essential to all working architects.

In the future architecture could play the part of activist or agitator, locally as well as globally, which would demand continual development and improvement of the tools and methods that architects use in their design process.

Contents
International Workshop is a forum for architectural experiments. It introduces new ways of working and motivates the student to acquire an architectural design process based on experimental investigations. In the course the city is studied from a holistic point of view where spatial continuity is derived from the relation between different scales. The city defines as an organism in a state of constant change, where spatial development is based on the transformation of site-specific elements. The analysis of different spaces and spatial structures is carried out using digital photos taken at the locations involved.

The course is organized as an intensive course in architectural design. Urban space serves both as a study object and as a point of departure for the project. The workshop begins with an introductory lecture and ends with a summary of the work.
