Higher education credits: 7,5. Grading scale: TH. Level: G2 (First level). Language of instruction: The course will be given in English on demand. Optional for: V4hb. Assessment: For grade 3 (pass) a precence of minimum 80% of the lectures is required, a laboration, a project task and a written examination. Aim
To give the students more profound knowledge about acoustic and vibrational fenomenons relating to buildings such that an acoustic projecting of the students will lead to a satisfying acoustic environment.

Contents
Various building systems are considered. In particular, systems involving concrete, wood and steel are treated. Models to predict the perception of sound inside a building are presented. An obligatory project exercise containing the sound environment inside buildings.

The course includes the sound environment in buildings with different frames. Advantages and disadvantages with concrete, steel and wood frames is treated. The erection of the buildning parts as well as the properties of the building systems is also treated. Room acoustics, trafic noise, vibrations and vent noise is included in the course. The sound experience is treated using different psychoacoustic models.

An important course moment is the construction task, which will result in a written report and an oral presentation to all participants. In this moment there is a possibility to ask questions and give critique. The students also has an active roll as opponents.
