PROJECT LEADERSHIPTMAN05

Higher education credits: 7. Grading scale: UG. Level: A (Second level). Language of instruction: The course will be given in Swedish. TMAN05 overlap following cours/es: TMA035 och TMA035. Compulsory for: TEMA4. Course coordinator: Associate Professor Anne Landin, anne.landin@bekon.lth.se, Technology Management. Prerequisites: For participation in the course, the student is required to be accepted for the Technology Management program. Recommended prerequisits: This course is eligible to candidates that has completed Technology Management course Lund University. This course is compulsory for Technology Management majors. Assessment: In group: project plan, status reports, project presentation, analysis report of the group process; individually: learning journals (each month), thesis on project leadership. A continuous assessment will be carried through discussions and observations of the students. Part of the assessment is based on written report that will be presented as project work. All written report must observe the rules of plagiarisms. Further information: The course can only be accomplished in teams. The group constellations are determined by the course leader. Aim
The course aims to dispense students with knowledge and skills of leadership in administrating different types of technology oriented projects while simultaneously developing individual and colleague teamwork. The course also aims at exposing students to different types of techniques and models and different types of psychological and social aspects while conducting a project.

Formulate, structure and design a project plan and the relevant aspects pertaining to the project.

Analyse an organisation or company’s project model/methodology and other relevant aspects of it with the aid of documents or/and empirical or evaluation with reference to course related literature.

Administer a project situation with many interested parties (host organization, project leaders, examiner, and reference groups) under a dynamic working group.

Organise and manage a project group of 4-5 participants.

Judgement and approach
For a passing grade the student must

Compose a self confident individual with emphasis for increase insight and personal development.

Demonstrate either individually or in group verbal and written presentation of project plan and project report (both for organisation and course leaders) of which will reflect the process undergone, project goals, the effect goals, the evaluation and analysis of valued reference group’s project plan and project report.

Contents
The course if focused mainly on project methodology – its opportunities and limitations in practice. Further emphasis is engage in the psychological and social hindrances that may exist while conducting a project and how to overcome these obstacles. Special study is also conducted on how creativity and constructivity can develop in practice.
