Prerequisites: FMA410 Calculus in One Variable, FMA420 Linear Algebra, FMA430 Calculus in Several Variables, MMT045 Flexible Manufacturing Systems and EDA011 Programming, First Course or EDA501 Programming, First Course. Assessment: Each student will present results from project work as a final report, and models and simulations in connections to defined project tasks. These are in general made in groups of two students or individual. The result from each task is graded and the final grade is calculated as a weighted mean. Home page:

The aim of the course is to provide knowledge in modelling, simulation and analysis of industrial production systems and how the information is managed with respect to the digital representation with respect to the product realization process. Theory and methodology is given to support the project tasks and how software tools are used from an engineering perspective in order to design solutions to produce effective industrial production systems.

The course is project oriented and focuses on three main problem areas: (1) Modelling of production systems, (2) simulation tools for digital plants, and (3) information flow in digital plants for products and resources.
