Higher education credits: 6. Grading scale: UG. Level: A (Second level). Language of instruction: The course will be given in Swedish. AHIN01 overlap following cours/es: ABF150, ABF150 och ABF150. Optional for: A4. Course coordinator: Associate Professor Anna-Maria Blennow,, Inst för arkitektur och byggd miljö. Prerequisites: Completion of six terms of the architect programme at LTH or an equivalent education. The course might be cancelled if the numer of applicants is less than 5. The number of participants is limited to 15 Assessment: Attendance to 80% to the seminars and passed written essay. Further information: The course is possible to join for foreign students who have such a command of Swedish that they with some help can follow the discussions. It is possible to write the essay and do the final criticism in English.

The course offers students the possibility of training their ability to reflect, analyse, discuss and write about architecture and garden history. The aim is to encourage the students to develop a personal view on architecture based on historical consciousness and analysis and to develop this ability to write and talk about architecture.

The course involves writing an essay about a chosen topic within a common theme. The writing will be combined with discussions an exercises in text analysis and different kind of architectural analysis.

Literature varies from each course occasion and is announced when a course begins.
