STUDIO LECTURES AT THE SCHOOL OF ARCHITECTURE, AUTUMN TERM 2009AAHB30

Higher education credits: 1. Grading scale: UG. Level: G1 (First level). Language of instruction: The course will be given in Swedish. AAHB30 overlap following cours/es: ABFA01 och ABFA01. Compulsory for: A1. Course coordinator: Christer Malmström, christer.malmstrom@arkitektur.lth.se, Inst för arkitektur och byggd miljö. Assessment: Approved assignment task and at least 80% attendance at seminars and lectures. In the case of non-pass the student has the right to a new examination after amendment. The examiner informs the student as to what is required in order to achieve a pass. Further information: The course is compulsory for students in year 1 and 2.

Aim
Themes of priority within the School of Architecture are communicated through this course. Comprehensive engagements as sustainability and an experimental approach are illustrated by examples from practising architects or researchers as well as through adjacent disciplines. The intention is to give students´ an early understanding of the potential field of action as architects.

The overall intention of the course is to give insights concerning the field of operation of architects and its relation to society. Researchers and practitioners give input together with adjacent professions. A written short essay on the task of the course summarize, together with seminars on the topic, the period.S
