Higher education credits: 7,5. Grading scale: TH. Level: A (Second level). Language of instruction: The course will be given in Swedish. Compulsory for: RH4rh. Course coordinator: Henrik Johansson, henrik.johansson@brand.lth.se, Brandteknik och riskhantering. Prerequisites: FMA410 Calculus in One Variable, FMA420 Linear Algebra, FMA430 Calculus in Several Variables, TNX071 Statistics with Decision Theory, MIO012 Managerial Economics, Basic Course, FMS065 Statistical Methods for Safety Analysis, VBR180 Risk Analysis Methods, MIO120 Economic Models for Risk Management. Recommended prerequisits: MAM090 People, Technology, Organisation and Risk Management. Assessment: The examination will be done both on an individual and a group-work basis. The final certificate is based on project assignments (group work) and essays (individual work), and also requires participation in compulsory seminars. Aim
The overriding aim of the course is that, after completing the course, the students will have an understanding of how risk analysis, risk assessment, and risk reduction / control are dependent on each other, and how these activities can be handled by various organizations. Furthermore, the course is aimed at providing the students with a knowledge base concerning the different methods and techniques applied in the risk management process for various types of risk, as well as developing their ability to critically examine those methods in the context of practical application.
