Aim

• Raise the student’s awareness of the concept of sustainable development.

• Carry out a project with a society-oriented perspective.

Knowledge and understanding
For a passing grade the student must

• be able to evaluate the consequences of a product or service from the perspective of sustainability. All three aspects of sustainable development will be treated; social, economic and ecological.

• be able to analyse prevailing norms in modern civilisation and critically examine channels of information.

• be able to adopt an approach and an position on a reality with limited resources.

Contents
Students are required to develop a product or a service within a set project framework. In this assignment, they need to take into consideration the environmental impact of sourcing raw material, production, distribution, use and destruction of a product or service as well as “corporate identity” and visual communication. The students will utilise their experiences from other courses they are taking or have completed. The project will result in a physical 3D prototype.
