LAW FOR ENGINEERS, INTRODUCTORY COURSE IN BUSINESS LAWGEMA60

Higher education credits: 7,5. Grading scale: TH. Level: G1 (First level). Language of instruction: The course will be given in Swedish. Aim
The course aims to provide the students with basic knowledge of the Swedish judicial system. Students will not only be able to develop skills in identifying and applying current law rulings but also provide them a broad comprehension of the judicial structure of law that will serve as an important tool for engineers to solve practical legal problems in business, public service and local governments.

Knowledge and understanding
For a passing grade the student must

- be able to identify relevant legal issues

- be able to analyze legal disputes that may arise

- be able to identify adequate legal rulings

Skills and abilities
For a passing grade the student must

- be able to read and understand applied social order and justice rulings

- be able to evaluate consequences of straightforward legal issues

- be able to propose or recommend adequate solutions to straightforward legal issues

Contents
The aim of this course is to provide the students with basic knowledge of Civil Law, Administrative Law and certain parts of Contracts and Obligations Law. The exercises are designed in such a way that students can put into practice existing judicial rulings in relation to the different common interests of the society. Special emphasis is placed on reading and understanding legal texts.
