The objective of the course is to demonstrate the relationship between material, properties and manufacturing, and how this influences design and use of products of different materials.

Contents
The course defines the relevant properties of construction materials, e.g. stiffness, plasticity, formability, optical properties, thermal properties, and how these properties depend on structure. Different types of materials and manufacturing processes are used as base for the discussion.
