Higher education credits: 3. Grading scale: UG. Level: G2 (First level). Language of instruction: The course might be given in English. Compulsory for: ID3. Course coordinator: University lecturer Maria Udriot, Maria.Udriot@arkitektur.lth.se, Inst för arkitektur och byggd miljö. Prerequisites: AFO240 och AFO245 Applied aesthetics, visual communication and AFO220 och AFO225 Applied aesthetics, visual structures. Assessment: Approved exercises. 80% attendance is demanded at lectures and exercises.

Aim
Develop the ability to constructive reflexion regarding aesthetic and graphical quality in their own as well as others production.

To gain knowledge about form and colour as significant characteristics in design communication.

Broaden the capacity in graphic composition.

Contents
Layout principles and balance between text och image.

Text analysis and image analyse of their own compositions.

With the help of earlier skills acquired from this course about visualisation techniques, the work is concentrated to documentation of the student’s own work process.

The course will be presented in two parts:

The first one is based on a series of lectures by professional architects, industrial designers och graphic designers. They will show their respective methods in communicating with their clients, visually and verbally.

In the other part the students work with their own material, with guidance from teachers. (architects and graphic designers).
