Aim
The aim of the course is to bring knowledge about the work among practicing architects and to bring knowledge about architectural research from theoretical and applied perspectives. The course also aims at bringing an insight about the diversity of tools and methods that constitute contemporary architectural practice.

Knowledge and understanding
For a passing grade the student must

• have an awareness about architectural practice.

• have some knowledge about different theoretical perspectives and have awareness of how to apply the theories in practice.

Skills and abilities
For a passing grade the student must

• actively participate in discussions on architectural work.

• critically reflect on the lectures from both the professions and from the research and be able to write down the reflections.

Judgement and approach
For a passing grade the student must

• have an insight about the diversity of the role as an architect, but also an insight about the common base of knowledge.

Contents
The course consists of a series of lectures by invited guest lecturers from the professional field and various universities. Guest lecturers may be important names of contemporary architecture as well as researchers and teachers at Lund University. The lectures will be announced at least one week in advance so it will be possible for lecturers visiting the department could act in the course.
