Higher education credits: 3. Grading scale: UG. Level: G2 (First level). Language of instruction: The course will be given in English on demand. Optional for: A4. Course coordinator: Associate Professor Thorbjörn Laike, thorbjorn.laike@arkitektur.lth.se, Inst för arkitektur och byggd miljö. Prerequisites: Passed the first three year of the Architecture programme or a Bachelor degree in architecture. The course might be cancelled if the numer of applicants is less than 10. Aim
The aim of the course is to give knowledge about the interior environment as important parts of the human surroundings. Further the aim is to give knowledge about perception and about the impact of environmental factors on human well-being and health and finally to apply the gained knowledge in a design assignment.

Contents
The course consists of lectures that presents environmental psychology research about the importance of environmental factors on human experiences and well being. The lectures are complemented with seminars and external experts on relevant problems. An individual design assignment in a specific interior is also a part of the course. The assignment is presented and defended at a final seminar.
