Credits: 5. Grading scale: TH. Optional for: A3, B2, BI3, C4, D3, E3, F3, I3, ID1, K2, L4, M3, MD2, N2, Pi2, RH4, V3, W3. Course coordinator: Professor Bengt Hansson, Construction Management. Professor Hans Landström, School of Economics and Management, Byggnadsekonomi. Assessment: Project work in groups, oral and written presentation of business plan. Aim
The course is concentrating on the small and newly started company. A holistic perspective is used to enlighten both the company’s development, the role of the entrepreneur and the importance of the environment. The students get to learn about usual problems and barriers related to the early development of a company. Another important goal with the course is to inspire the students to start their own enterprises in the future.

The course deals with different types of companies such as manufacturing companies, service provider and service companies The course consists of lectures covering different theoretical/practical areas. The students work in groups with business concepts initiated by themselves. A number of lecturers from university and companies will give their view on the terms for small and newly started companies. Added to this is supervision and guidance of project work and seminars.
