Each student must carry out a pre-projecting of a combined cycle plant during the first part of the course. In the beginning of the course the students develop their own heat and mass balance program, using Matlab. The commercial heat and mass balance program, IPSEpro, will be introduced in parallel. Using this program the students will be able to validate the results of their pre-projecting assignment. At the same time the commercial program allows the students to carry out more advanced calculations of combined cycles in the end of the course.

The major part of the acquired literature will be handed out during the course. In addition to this some reference literature will be available in the lecture rooms and the students are encouraged to use these when writing the final project report.
