Higher education credits: 4,5. Grading scale: TH. Level: A (Second level). Language of instruction: The course will be given in Swedish. Optional for: M4, M4en, W4, W4ea. Also opposition on another project is required. 75 % of the lectures should be attended. Further information: The course includes a number of lectures but the main task is performing the project. Aim
This course aims to provide the students knowledge concerning properties and usage of energy gases (natural gas, hydrogen, bio gas etc). In addition knowledge should be achieved concerning extraction, production, distribution and combustion of energy gases. The course also aims to provide knowledge concerning usage of energy gases in industries, buildings etc. Environmental issues related to energy gases are also considered.

Contents
The course includes properties and usage of energy gases like natural gas, biogas, hydrogen, gasol and city gas. In particular environmental issues are considered. Theoretical basis for state and characteristics of the gases as well as gas combustion. Extraction, transport and distribution are considered. Operation of energy gas systems, usage of energy gases in industrial process and power generation as well as in buildings and for vehicle propulsion are considered. Usage of gas at the international level, competition, pricing and economy are discussed.
