The purpose with the course, is to give students an overall view and understanding of packaging development and packaging systems and their role in society.

Contents
The course is based on lectures with lecturers from the department and from industry. The lectures deal with packaging development for different product applications. Furthermore the lectures include areas as different packaging material, printing techniques, marketing aspects and environmental aspects. A study visit at Tetra Pak is included for packaging material production. The major part of the course is based on a project work in group, where the students should suggest and evaluate a packaging system for a consumer product.
