Aim
The use of composite materials in the society increases due to higher demands on product properties and the manufacturing thereof. However, also environmental benefits regarding material utilization, energy consumption, environmental contamination and recycling contribute to the increased use of composite materials, both in advanced technical applications and more simple merchandises. The course gives knowledge and understandings within all connected disciplines that is needed to utilize the properties of composite materials.

Contents
Composite materials, a material composed of two or more different materials are sophisticated in its structural composition; both in micro- and macro scale, and have more and more tailored properties for an intended application. This course gives knowledge about material properties of composite materials, its constituents, manufacturing routines and potential industrial applications, which will give understandings within a multitude of technical areas. The content of the course are:

After accomplishment of the course the student will be able to validate and develop solutions within composite technology and, also, be in possession of the potentials of composite materials, regarding both properties and manufacturing, in comparison with more conventional materials.
