COMPUTER AIDED PRODUCT MODELLING AND SIMULATIONMMK121

Higher education credits: 4,5. Grading scale: TH. Level: G2 (First level). Language of instruction: The course will be given in Swedish. Optional for: I3pu, M3, M3pu. Course coordinator: University adjunct Ola Carlqvist, ola.carlqvist@mkon.lth.se, Maskinkonstruktion. Prerequisites: MMK010 Manual and Computer Aided drafting in Mechanical Engineering. Assessment: The examination will be made individually based on passed tutorials and tasks. The 3D scanning is accomplished by a group compulsory practice. Home page: http://www.mkon.lth.se.

Aim
The aim for this course is to give the basic insights into the use of advanced computer aided tools for 3D product modeling and product simulation and prototyping. From a product idea a computerized model is made (product modeling) of a physical object by surface modeling or 3D scanning. Product simulation gives an insight to the use of real time simulation (Virtual Reality, VR). The created product models give possibilities to simulate the complex relations between man, product and environment. Rapid Prototyping is created from a computerized product model to a physical object.
