WORKING ENVIRONMENT, PROJECT

Higher education credits: 7,5. Grading scale: UG. Level: A (Second level). Language of instruction: The course will be given in Swedish. Optional for: C4, C4da, D4, E4, I4, M4. Prerequisites: Any of the following: MAM203 Working Environment, Basic Course; MAM070 Working Environment; MAM041 Man-Machine-System; MAM026 Work Orgnaization; MAM061 Human-Computer Interaction; MAM242 Aerosol Technology; MAM110 Humans and Technology; MAM095 Human-Machine Interaction; MAM085 Ergonomics. Assessment: Grades are determined on the basis of written and oral reports. Obligatory portions: supervised project exercises, written report and final seminar. Home page: http://www.eat.lth.se.

Aim
The aim of the course is for students to acquire in-depth abilities to identify and solve work and/or usability related problems and, based on research findings, be able to plan and design:

products and/or
production systems and/or
new work organizations, jobs and work sites

so that a quality work environment/usability is obtained in regards to different production conditions as well as production and function specifications. The course also aims to train students in investigatory work and project management so that the project can be expanded to become the basis of a masters thesis.

Knowledge and understanding
For a passing grade the student must

be able to problematize and report in depth on the topic on which their project is based.

Skills and abilities
For a passing grade the student must

be able to independently formulate a project plan and carry out the project in the chosen subject area.

Judgement and approach
For a passing grade the student must

be able present an authoritative project report, both orally and in writing.

Contents
The contents are adapted to students previous choices and areas of concentration. Exercises are chosen and project plans structured to apply and expand the students previous knowledge in working environment engineering. The project can be related to other fields of study after having reached an agreement with the appropriate department. There are obligatory study tours for purposes of inventory and environmental studies.
