Course coordinator: Frans Maurer,, Polymerteknologi. Prerequisites: KTE080 Polymer Chemistry or KPO010 Polymer Physics. Recommended prerequisits: KOO052 Materials and Polymer Technology or KOO095 Functional Materials. The course might be cancelled if the numer of applicants is less than 3. The number of participants is limited to 12 Selection criteria: Priority will in the first instance be given to students enrolled in the Chemical Engineering programme, and in the second instance to students according to their ECTS credits. Assessment: All lectures and laboratory assignments are compulsory. A report has to be written and the results of the project have to be presented at the end of the course. Home page:

actively participate in discussions related to different polymer applications in cooperation with a supervisor from industry.

The course intends to clarify the relations between the different functions of polymeric materials in their applications, their physical-chemical properties, their processing history and their structure. The course is given in close cooperation with internationally operating local industries. In the course several different subjects of industrial importance are lectured, for example: packaging materials, medical applications of polymers, composite materials, fuel cells, additives and separation materials. Lectures are held by researchers from industry.
