Contents
The course comprises three parts. The first part outlines a basic and general quantum mechanical description of molecular spectroscopy, including the interaction between radiation and matter, with examples of basic applications of optical (IR, UV/VIS, and fluorescence) spectroscopy. The second part treats modern spectroscopic techniques. The third part (covering 50% of the course) treats modern NMR spectroscopy. This part includes basic theory as well as modern applications of multidimensional spectroscopy and spin relaxation for investigations of molecular structure and dynamics.
