AUTOMOTIVE DESIGNIDE150

Higher education credits: 4,5. Grading scale: TH. Level: G1 (First level). Language of instruction: The course will be given in English on demand. Optional for: ID2. Course coordinator: Charlotte Sjödell, Charlotte.Sjodell@design.lth.se, Industridesign. Prerequisites: Needs to have completed 1st year at the industrial design programme. The number of participants is limited to 20 Selection criteria: lottery. Assessment: Examination requires class participation, completion of home assignments and completion of final presentation.

Aim
Introduction of the basic techniques used in transportation design.

Knowledge and understanding
For a passing grade the student must

- with sketches, renderings and sketch-model present a design for a vehicle.

- digitally and verbally present the initial idea, process and design concept.

Contents
The course is held weekly and contains a lecture part and a group critic. The lecture covers the following topics:

- make and use of a “mood board”

- sketch techniques

- Photoshop rendering

- presentation techniques
