Higher education credits: 6. Grading scale: UG. Level: G1 (First level). Language of instruction: The course will be given in Swedish. Compulsory for: C2. Assessment: A passing grade on exercises during the course, laboratory exercises and projects are needed for a passing grade on the course. If a passing grade is not obtained after the exercises an oral re-examintion is offered. Further information: Under the first study period, the major part of the education is Lectures, Exercises and Laboratory exercises, During the second study period, the students will study a practical problem in-depth. Aim
The aim is to introduce electro-magnetic radiation with emphasis on optics and to give an introduction to signal transfer with light and radiowaves.

Contents

The course deals with optical systems with emphasis on signal transfer. The main part is optics, but also other types of signal transfer can be studies. Within optics, light sources, optical fibres and detectors are studied.
