COMPUTERS IN SYSTEMS

EDAA05

Higher education credits: 8. Grading scale: UG. Level: G1 (First level). Language of instruction: The course will be given in Swedish. EDAA05 overlap following cours/es: EDA021, EDA080, EDA250, EDA300, EDA315, EDA021, EDA080, EDA250, EDA300 och EDA315. Compulsory for: D1. Assessment: The examination is done by a pair wise written report, an individually performed review of a fellow students written report, seven written reflections in conjunction to compulsory lectures and presence as audience at oral presentations. Aim

to give an insight in some of the profession of a computer engineer
to give an introduction to the problem areas encompassed by the D-programme and to facilitate the choice among and assimilation of upcoming courses
to broaden and deepen the knowledge of computer technology and contiguous areas and to the computer technologys consequences for mankind, environment and society.
to develop the students ability to communicate technological problems and their solutions by means of written, oral and electronic communication

Knowledge and understanding
For a passing grade the student must

be able to describe and explain a given course related issue so that a target group with lesser knowledge in the area gets a basic understanding of the issue
on the basis of the concepts goal, target group, message, lines of communication and feedback, be able to plan a limited but structured communication effort

Skills and abilities
For a passing grade the student must

at a comprehensive level be able to assess and give feedback to the content and the communicative aspects of a short written report on a course related issue and understand how to assess the quality of a text in association to its sources and references
with instruction be able to compile a short written report that with a good structure, in good Swedish, with adequate references, describes and explains a course related issue
to a limited audience and by means of audio/visual tools be able to commence a 15 minute high quality oral presentation on a course related issue

Judgement and approach
For a passing grade the student must

be able to search for and compile facts and information of a course related issue.
on the basis of given information be able to plan the study effort in a course
