Higher education credits: 7,5. Grading scale: TH. Level: G2 (First level). Language of instruction: The course will be given in Swedish. BLT015 overlap following cours/es: BLT010, BLT010 och BLT010. Compulsory for: B3. Course coordinator: Christian Trägårdh, christian.tragardh@food.lth.se, Livsmedelsteknik. Prerequisites: KKK070 Biotechnology, KAT090 Chemical Engineering,Transport Processes , FMA410 Mathematics,Analysis in One Dimension. Assessment: The project pilot scale experiment work is examined in group as well as individually. Its results are reported in the form of a written project report as well as a oral presentation and discussion, and examined on a graded scale. Opposition of the written reports and oral presentation. The home assignment is graded based upon its written report and oral presentation. The final grade is based on the project pilot scale experimental work to 60%, 10% written examination, opposition 10% and home assignment 20%. Home page: http://www.food.lth.se.

This course is run mainly as a project laboratory work and in the form of a project (a process engineering assignment) that will be carried out by a project group. It will train the ability to run a project and work in a group. The project work includes search and the reading of literature, forwarding hypotheses for the phenomena taking place and that need to be solved, planning of required experiments, experimental work on the unit operation equipment in pilot scale, evaluating the experimental data and reporting. Within the project also includes a qualified theoretical/computational simulations part for the studied unit operation. Data for its assessment will be taken from the own experiments or from literature.

The course will mainly be in the form of a project performed by a self-steering project group. Each group will have an advisor.

An home assignment in the form of a computational taske related to the performance of a unit operation is also included.
