Aim
To develop the ability of visualisation and perception of the relation between space and light.

By emphasising communication, exercise the ability to reproduce the relation between space and light in spatial contexts.

Develop the ability to work with light effects in the working process and using it in the demonstration of the work.

To facilitate the development of skills in sketching, drawing, painting och modelling space.

Knowledge and understanding
For a passing grade the student must

• be able to perform light effects in practical solutions or contexts, where these effects spatial disposition: light level, light spreading, shadows, blending, reflections and temperature of light.

• demonstrate different kinds of representation techniques and methods regarding form representation and image making.

Skills and abilities
For a passing grade the student must

• train the capacity to perform creative work with sketching tecniques, experimental modelling, applying and analysis.

Judgement and approach
For a passing grade the student must

• be able to analyse their perceptions of light effects in space in a critical way, as well as visually communicate and explain their perceptions.

Contents

• Sketching technique, perspektive, exercises in form representation and composition.

• Analytical working on a certain object and studies of how a neutral spatial context is affected by lightning.

• Performance of own projects regarding light installations

• The course is divided in three workshops, with the starting point to experiment withform, light and space.

The course will result in an exibition with the theme ”to experiment with light”.
