APPLIED AESTHETICS, VISUAL METAMORPHOSES, PART IAFO200

Higher education credits: 3. Grading scale: UG. Level: G1 (First level). Language of instruction: The course might be given in English. Compulsory for: ID3. Course coordinator: University lecturer Maria Udriot, Maria.Udriot@arkitektur.lth.se, Inst för arkitektur och byggd miljö. Assessment: Satisfactory completion of project and practical exercises. 80% attendance at practical sessions, seminars and lectures.

Aim
To develop and deepen the visualisation and perception of bidimensional compositions.

Observations and analysis of image compositions, contrasts and visual material

To deepen the exercise in creation of visual pattern compositions.

Knowledge and understanding
For a passing grade the student must

Have an independent and critical approach towards their own observations or pattern compositions, and be able to visually communicate and explain them.

Skills and abilities
For a passing grade the student must

independently make their own simple prints in different material.

Contents
Developing their own projects using a specific object as a starting point.

Exercise repetition, contrast and harmony in pattern compositions

Perform printing on textiles

The course will be presented as a workshop. During ten days students work in groups or on their own with exercises. It starts with a lecture introducing the subjects and ends with a discussion going through them.
