Aim
Through design in complex environments give the student knowledge of common architectonic phenomenon and develop ability to act in specific physical and social context.

Contents
The project consists of a design assignment in an existing urban context. The student will be stimulated to reference studies of architectural objects, theory and environment of special significance for the project at hand.

The assignment will be directed by a policy statement containing the questions, problems and themes that are relevant for both the local context as well as for architectural design in general. Issues at all levels of scale will be dealt with. Building structure, climate and topography will be treated with the same attention as the building´s expression, form and details.

Continuous critic is given at table in groups and to support the design process there are lectures, seminars and a study trip.

Literature
A lot of abstracts from books and reviews will be delivered before the seminars.
