Code: 0196. Name: Chemical Reaction Engineering.
Credits: 5. Grading scale: UG. Assessment: Written examination and computer exercises. Contents: Modelling of isothermal and nonisothermal ideal reactors for homogeneous and heterogeneous reaction systems. Computer simulation of ideal reactor models being described by ordinary differential equations. Introduction to catalysis and mass transfer phenomena coupled with chemical reaction. Analysis of nonideal reactors using distributions of residence times and the segregation model.

Code: 0296. Name: Chemical Technology, Laboratory Course.
Credits: 4. Grading scale: UG. Assessment: Approved written reports. Contents: The course comprises a compulsory task, which gives the student training in independent work, experimental planning, building of equipment, and reporting. Technical and chemical aspects of a selected chemical process are considering through a survey of the literature, planning and performing of a series of experiments, and evaluation of the experimental data. Reporting is made in technical reports, which are discussed and defended in oral examinations.
