Contents

Random and site-directed mutations of proteins using genetic methods are described. Combinatorial methods using biological and chemical approaches are treated. The course also includes a practical task where the student independently design a modified protein.

Examination details

Grading scale: TH - (U,3,4,5) - (Fail, Three, Four, Five)
Assessment: Written and problem-oriented home exam. Oral group presentation of material taken from the scientific literature. Approved reports from exercises and practicals are also required.

The examiner, in consultation with Disability Support Services, may deviate from the regular form of examination in order to provide a permanently disabled student with a form of examination equivalent to that of a student without a disability.
