Aim

The course aims to provide students basic tools for solving engineering problems by using computer tools.The student should also be familiar with the basics of oral and written communication. The course skills are expanded to include educational and carreer planning.

Contents

The course deals with fundamental communication (both oral and written) on an engineering basis. The student is also trained practically in public performance, rhetoric, going into opposition and the methodology of writing reports. To be able to handle the written communication the course also includes fundamental parts of a modern calculating application, wordprocessing application, presentations application and a traditional 2D cad applicatiuon (AutoCAD).

 

With an engineering perspective, the course covers basic communication. The student will be trained in practical presentation skills, rhetoric and opposition to the oral presentation and methods for writing reports( outline, source criticism, methodology, literature search). To specifically support the skills in written presentations the course includes training in ability to handle basic computer programs for these purposes.

Even seminars of study and career planning is included as part of the course.

 

 

Examination details

Grading scale: TH - (U,3,4,5) - (Fail, Three, Four, Five)
Assessment: The final grade is the integer portion of the weighted average of the requierd submissions.Final Score:3,4 or 5. All compulsory parts must be approved in order to obatin a finale grade.

The examiner, in consultation with Disability Support Services, may deviate from the regular form of examination in order to provide a permanently disabled student with a form of examination equivalent to that of a student without a disability.
