Aim

The course provides knowledge and tools for calculation and presentation of results that can be used to render teaching/learning more effective in other courses and facilitate practice as an engineer.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge and understanding
For a passing grade the student must

• Identify and interpret different parts of the drawings normally used in construction and infrastructure projects.
• Understand the building up of library databases and carry out effective information-seeking.

Competences and skills
For a passing grade the student must

• Make simple drawings using CAD.
• Use the Office package to create templates for simple reports, calculations and presentations.
• Put forward a plan for a technical report and the objectives of its parts (background, aim, method, results, analyses, conclusions and discussion).
• Make an oral presentation with technical aids.
